Why I love Mother's Day

I love Mother's Day b/c the kids get so darn excited to give me whatever gift they have made. I love that the kids can write now and can share what is in their hearts! Here's a gift from my Ella Paris:

On mother's day, Jonette and I got together b/c both our hubbies are away on biz trips. We all had a great time lunching, hanging out, going to the park, and our big present was a boxful of wonderful, happy children!

We did celebrate with Mateo early...he always does a great job with celebrations. Mateo and the kids surprised me with paintings of their favorite activity with me...cute Zadian painted us bowling and I only did it once with him b/c my thumb starting hurting but it meant so much to him, sweet boy. Mateo wrote his usual love letter, always the highlight of any celebration for me, and we went out for Swensens Ice Cream and shopping...Mateo gave me Hot Latin Dance classes - and he's joining me!!! How fun & creative is that?!

Iphone Fun after school

My favorite time of the day is when the kids come home from school....as soon as they walk in the door they look for me and their faces light up and we all hug! I am always grateful for this golden season that I have them at home. We love sitting on the couch after school and playing around with iPhone photo shoots.

Special Date with Ella Paris.

Ella and I went to see the Michael Jackson Thrilled LIVE show! It was LOADS OF FUN! It's not so much anyone impersonating MJ (b/c who could really do that), as much as a musical and dance tribute to the King of Pop. I love how Singapore always gets lots of great shows.

Dalton and Michal are soooo fun to hang out with! They are great kids and Ella just loved being with the "teenagers" -- plus they treat her so well.

I love it when I get to hang out with Astrid and Melissa. Conversation goes a mile a minute! We cover everything from music, spirituality, politics, entertainment, family, motherhood, and the joys of having such loving and selfless husbands. Delightful ladyfriends! We partied and danced away at the show - what a blast!

Togetherness

Jonna and I never tire of Singapore learning...our tour around Balestier Road this week was a so much fun! I like the walking tours off the beaten path, especially when we stop to discover food favorites like Nonya Rice Dumpling being made.

We attended Shakespeare in the Park at Fort Canning. Michal and Anna came along too, I just love two darlig freshmen. They are so fun to hang out with!

Here's our thespian crowd enjoying a wonderful picnic before the show starts. I loved this play! Everything about it was well done.

I loved how the British Club went all out for the Royal Wedding. I didn't realize it was such a grand party in Singapore. All three restaurants at the Club were fully booked....here's the casual family verandah with TV screens everywhere.

The Mountbatten restaurant above was doing a whole formal affair - long tuxes, gowns, hats and all...

Like so many others, I loved seeing the magical moment Kate appeared in her gorgeous gown.

Here are my four little favorite people on earth. When we're driving and I look back at them, I can't believe how lucky I am!

Ben and Cheryl's pool pizza party for Labor Day was loads of fun! Love all these sweet friends!

The Daynes Bday Extravaganza

Our friend Mike Daynes threw himself one amazing all-day party for his birthday. He started with golfing and burgers at Carl's, then the Wave House in Sentosa where we joined in the fun. The kids had a blast boarding on the fake waves. We all trekked to the Chilli's at Resorts World to continue with dinner fun. I love our extended Singapore family!

My birthday boys.

Busy and full weekend celebrating my boys! Here's Ethan on his "real" birthday. All he wanted was a donut tower for breakfast and he saved some bday presents from Grammy to open on his special day. We have a new favorite spot called ISLAND CREAMERY. You get a free ice cream on your birthday so Ethan reminded us we HAD to go there. Here are the kids on Sunday morning egg hunting in our living room. We love Easter for all the eggs and bunnies, but for the deeper meaningful side of this celebration. I love how my kids are old enough now to grasp what Easter really means....finally! I can never celebrate any Easter w/ out my mind going back to my VERY favorite Easter in Jerusalem at the Garden of Gethsemene. Changed my life. We had a fun day of fish and chips with Kate and Lehi at their condo. Here's Ethan w/ their baby Mason. Great to finally catch up with them b/c they were away for a long time in Australia to show off this gorgeous babe. For Niko's delayed celebration for his turning three, we decided to do something HE wanted to do. Bowling! Niko woke up so excited to come down the stairs...he had requested a Ben10 cake, balloons and a transformer toy. I am always so happy to make this little guy happy! I love how he bounces everywhere, is pure energy, and loves sleep-kissing with his mommy! A birthday isn't complete w/ out celebrating with your friends! Here's Niko at playgroup (Crocodile Farm) outing. We enjoyed cupcakes and goodie bags.
